Brian Rossiter
Brian Rossiter
Brian Rossiter is a Director and Chairman of BBR Consultancy Ltd. Brian has had 36 years experience of teaching in schools in England. Working in some of the most impoverished communities, he has had a major impact on the lives of young people and their life chances. He has spent the last 12 years as a Headteacher in an ex-mining community delivering against the tagline "Regeneration through Education". Brian spent 9 years on a national Secondary Heads’ group advising both Labour and Coalition Governments on national policy and its implementation. As a member of Council for Nottingham University he also has an insight into the changing world of Higher Education.
Brian’s proudest achievement was initiating and delivering a £330m ("Real Value" project cost) Education & Leisure PFI project. He created and promoted a vision for education across Bassetlaw, North Nottinghamshire. This included the preparatory networking, commitment building and (2 phase) bidding support for PFI credits to deliver a full rebuild of his school, four other 11-18 schools, a 3-18 Special School and two post-16 Centres. The project included two additional Leisure Centres for the district (RV ~£60m). Over a 10 year period he worked with many stakeholders including Governors, LEA/LA officers, elected Members, all nine secondary schools and other primaries in Bassetlaw, parents, community groups, the Local Authority, Education Committee, MPs, the Learning & Skills Council (as it was then) and Development Agencies.
